Defense Lawyer in Senzo Meyiwa Trial Passes Away

Johannesburg, South Africa – Advocate Thulani Mngomezulu, a prominent lawyer representing two of the accused in the high-profile Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, has tragically passed away. The news of his death has sent shockwaves through the legal community and the public at large, particularly as the trial nears its conclusion.  

Mngomezulu, who had been absent from court proceedings since November 8th due to illness, was scheduled to cross-examine the lead investigating officer, Bongani Gininda. His untimely passing has cast a shadow over the trial, raising concerns about potential delays and complications.

The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, which has captivated the nation for years, has been marked by numerous twists and turns. The case involves the tragic shooting death of the former Bafana Bafana captain at the home of his girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo, in 2014.
