Amukelani Bradley Mabasa, better known by his stage name $LXM TANGY, is an emerging artist from Saulsville, Pretoria, whose journey is as raw and inspiring as the music he creates.

He discovered his artistic voice early in life, starting with poetry in Grade 4. Inspired by his older brother, Ahimsa, he used poetry as a way to navigate his emotions and express his reality. But he soon felt that words alone weren’t enough—he wanted to touch people more deeply. By Grade 6, he made the transition to music, beginning a journey that would come to define his future.

The name “$LXM TANGY” pays tribute to two of his biggest idols: Eminem (Slim Shady) and Drake. Their music carried him through some of the hardest moments of his life, shaping not only his sound but also his purpose as an artist.

His style is unapologetically unique. He prides himself on creating music that stands apart from anything else in the industry—music born from real struggle, real pain, and real triumph. Growing up in the ghetto and facing poverty, he channels his hardships into songs that are meant to heal, inspire, and motivate. His mission is clear: to help people become the best versions of themselves and remind them that with God, nothing is impossible.

This year marked a major milestone in his career when he was nominated for Song of the Year at the Phelia Awards for “C-Minor,” a collaboration with Spontaneous. The achievement stands as a testament to his growth, resilience, and rising impact in the music scene.

But the journey hasn’t been without challenges. After losing all his studio equipment to theft, he faced a period where recording new music seemed impossible. Through faith and persistence, he rebuilt—piece by piece—until he was able to purchase new equipment and return stronger than before.

On 31 October, he  released his highly anticipated single “Voodoo”, featuring FVLIX TXYLOR, Spontaneous, and Epic 9ine. He is also working on a major project titled “The Cursed Generation,” scheduled for release in 2026.

His dream collaborations include some of the world’s biggest stars: Drake, Eminem, A-Reece, Nasty C, and Adele—artists who have shaped global music culture and continue to fuel his ambition.

Beyond the music, $LXM TANGY keeps his brand rooted in authenticity. He engages closely with his fanbase and remains deeply involved in his community—offering food and water to those in need, raising awareness on social issues, and advocating for a drug-free lifestyle. His goal is not just to entertain, but to uplift and transform lives.

He wants listeners to walk away from his music believing in themselves, chasing their dreams, and trusting in God's power to make the impossible possible.

Looking ahead, he sees himself becoming one of the biggest artists in South Africa—winning SAMA Awards, Metro Awards, BET Awards, and even Grammys. His ambition is limitless, and his drive is unmistakable.

A fun fact many fans don’t know: when he’s not making music, he plays soccer—and he admits he sometimes spends money unwisely, though he’s actively working on improving his financial discipline.

His message to the world is simple but powerful:
Be yourself. You are unique. God made you different for a reason. Your dreams don’t need to make sense to anyone but you. Dreams do come true—if you’re willing to fight for them.
