KwaZulu-Natal police are searching for suspects who shot and killed eight people in the Zama area of ​​U Section in Umlazi on Friday night.

According to officers called to the scene, they found six men and two women lying dead.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said the deceased were between the ages of 22 and 40.

He said they were told that the victims were sitting inside one of the informal settlements when unknown suspects opened fire and killed them.

“Investigations are ongoing into the motive behind the incident as police have begun searching for the suspects,” said Netshiunda.
