There are complaints about strange criminals in KwaMashu
A group of gangs has been accused of infiltrating the KwaMashu community, entering schools, robbing teachers and robbing users of Dumisani Makhaye road. This was revealed by a My World Global source in the security agencies who asked to remain anonymous.
He revealed that the men came to do mischief and ran away to hide in the KwaMashu hostel.
In the latest incident, they are said to have confronted two police detectives who had gone to retrieve a cell phone that had been stolen by someone who claimed to be in a hostel.
"A group of thugs, who were armed with guns, just stared at the police, who had to raise an alarm and call others and they were on the ground. They have destroyed themselves, they are fighting with people on Dumisani Makhaye street," said the source.
He went on to say that criminals recently entered the school at Mukelani Primary, robbed the teachers of their mobile phones and money.
It is said that they didn't stop there, they also used the teachers' mobile phones to send money through the app. In that blackout, it is said that the teachers were pointed at with guns.
The country has reported many times about the crimes that are said to have covered the KwaMashu hostel and the killing of people. Some have even compared it to "Kuka Lasha".
The KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, said that the restaurant owners are working with members of the public to stop street violence in Dumisani Makhaye.
He went on to say that cars are hijacked in this area, people are robbed and some end up being stabbed or shot.
"We have spoken with the local police station that the police should be busy from 6 pm which is the time when the night starts. This thing used to happen only on weekends, now it happens every day," said Netshiunda.
He blew a whistle towards the public, saying that they should avoid using this road at night if there is no emergency.
"Otherwise, they must go in groups. If anyone suspects you, call the police or try other ways to be safe. They are not trying to take revenge on the criminals," said Netshiunda.
Regarding the reports that single people are committing this crime in KwaMashu township, Netshiunda said that if a crime happens, the police will investigate and investigate the cause.
He said that the KwaMashu hostel has been quiet for a long time because they are working with the people who live inside it.
"If there are criminals in any hostel, who go out and commit crimes outside, the people who give the police that information will go and arrest them," said Netshiunda.
