The family has faith on the police for the murder of their son over flip flops.
The family in KwaXimba, Cato Ridge, has come to rely on the police, following the killing of one of their members on Thursday, by a friend over a flip flop.

It is said that the family rushed to the scene after hearing gunshots. When they got there, they found out that their friends had been shot.
"When we went inside, we found out that two were injured, one was still able to explain what happened but Siboniso was silent," said Ms. Nomfundo Ndawonde, the spokesperson for the family.
He revealed that they found out that the dispute over flip flops had been going on for a while. He said the suspect robbed them from a friend of the deceased a few weeks ago.
"On the day of the incident, they met him wearing them, they wanted them. He ended up giving them, and when he was far away, he shouted that he would come back with his dogs," said Ms. Ndawonde.
He said indeed, the suspect came back with his friends, and they shot the deceased and his friends. The friends were injured and taken to the hospital.

He went on to say that the suspects disappeared from sight, and the brothers were the only ones who were attacked and returned home to see what happened because it was clear that the people they were following were not friends.
He said that's when they came across the problem that the attackers were shot at the scene.
He said that as far as they know, the suspects have not been arrested, they are still at large.
