MKP over rules ANC in KZN

The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal is finished, it needs to be rebuilt.

This was stated by the National Chairman of the ANC, Mr. Gwede Mantashe, who said that the branches in this province need to be re-formed as they have been disrupted by the arrival of the party led by Mr. Jacob Zuma, Umkhonto we Sizwe.

"The ANC in KZN is finished, it needs to be rebuilt. MK is done with this organization in that province. People think that rebuilding means tearing everything apart but it is not, it is easier to build when there is a foundation. We learned a lesson by dismantling the entire leadership in the past that it is difficult to rebuild it. That is why it is easier to build and renovate where there is something than to start from scratch when there is nothing," said Mantashe.

He said that it has been talked about for some time that the leadership of this province is being attacked by vultures because of the lack of support for this organization in the country.

The Secretary General, Mr. Fikile Mbalula, speaking to the media said that they will return to this province within a month as it is to get a feel for what happened in the branches.

He stated that a decision has not been taken on what will happen to the leadership of this province.

Mbalula said that they know what is going on, and that the executive body will be the one to issue guidelines on what needs to happen.

"We will have an executive committee meeting at the end of this month. About 600 000 people voted for the ANC in KZN, others decided not to vote. There are many things we can do in KZN but we don't want it to be as if we are putting a stain on lossing supportes in KZN. Zuma's party has caused havoc. Some members of the ANC were involved and were working undercover with MK in the elections," said Mbalula.

He said that disbanding the leadership is not the only solution because there are other ways to fix the situation without disbanding the leadership.

He revealed that they visited three provinces namely KZN, Gauteng and Northern Cape, where the organization is organized for support.

"We will also go to Mpumalanga where we used to have 70% of support and now we are at 50%. We are preparing for the local government elections which are almost a year away before they are held," said Mbalula.

He said the power outage, the water problem, crime, are some of the things that made people not voting for the ANC.
