Rachel Kolisi Takes Foundation to CCMA over Constructive Dismissal
Rachel Kolisi, the estranged wife of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, has lodged a formal complaint with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration (CCMA), alleging constructive dismissal from her position as CEO of the Kolisi Foundation.
According to sources close to the matter, Rachel’s complaint details a deteriorating working relationship with the foundation's board, which she claims ultimately forced her resignation in February. She alleges that unfavorable working conditions made it impossible for her to continue in her role, prompting her to take legal action.
CCMA documents, seen by our publication, indicate that Rachel is seeking either reinstatement or financial compensation for the emotional and professional distress she has suffered as a result of the alleged unfair treatment.
The Kolisi Foundation's board, which includes Siya Kolisi, Hannah Sadiki, and Ziyanda Ntshona, has declined to comment, citing the ongoing legal proceedings. However, insiders suggest that the board disputes Rachel’s claims and is prepared to defend its position before the commission.
Rachel's departure from the foundation was publicly announced in February, with the organization expressing sadness over her resignation and acknowledging her significant contributions, particularly in her advocacy against gender-based violence (GBV).
The CCMA case is expected to be heard in the coming weeks, with both parties set to present their arguments before a commissioner. The outcome could have significant implications not only for Rachel's professional future but also for the governance of the Kolisi Foundation and its ongoing initiatives.
