Israeli Airstrike Claims Lives of Three Hamas Operatives, Including Sons of Political Leader
Israeli airstrike in Gaza targets and kills three Hamas operatives, including sons of political leader Ismail Haniyeh.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) have announced the outcome of an airstrike conducted in Gaza on Wednesday, revealing significant casualties among Hamas operatives.
In a statement released by the IDF and ISA, it was disclosed that the operation, guided by intelligence from both organizations, targeted three Hamas military operatives engaged in terrorist activities within central Gaza . The statement identified the operatives as Amir Haniyeh, Mohammad Haniyeh, and Hazem Haniyeh, all affiliated with the Hamas military wing .
Of particular note, the IDF confirmed that the slain operatives were the sons of a prominent Hamas political figure, Ismail Haniyeh, who chairs the organization's political bureau . However, CNN has yet to independently verify this claim .
Additionally, a CNN correspondent reported a tragic toll from the strike, indicating the deaths of six family members of Ismail Haniyeh, including his three sons and three grandchildren, as well as their driver .
Curiously, the official IDF and ISA statement omitted any mention of casualties beyond the three targeted operatives. This stands in contrast to earlier statements from Ismail Haniyeh himself, who lamented the loss of his sons and grandchildren near Al Shati, northwest of Gaza City.
