The cause of bus accident on N2 in Mandeni is being investigated

Nine members of the Twelve Apostles Church in Trinity, KwaDukuza, have been confirmed dead in a bus-to-bus accident that occurred on the N2 between Mandeni and Dukuza.
The members of the church were travelling from Richards Bay to Shakaskraal when a tire on the bus blew out, causing the driver to lose control and the bus to veer off the road.
About 80 passengers were on the bus, eight of whom were confirmed dead at the scene, while others were taken to hospital in varying conditions. Many of the passengers refused hospital treatment and were not taken.
Transport and Human Settlements Minister Siboniso Duma visited the scene of the accident on Monday morning where he saw the wreckage of the bus lying 100m below the median.
