Durban is ready for tourists

The City of Durban has make safety a priority for the festive season, the City outlined their plans for ensuring safety. They will deploy more than 2000 Metro Police officers that will work hand in glove with SAPS and other private security, they will also have 21 roadblock to ensure that there is no drinking and driving as well as illegal substances. The City is expecting 1.2 Million tourists, the amount of money the city is expecting to make is R350 Million and that will make the city GDP to be R900 Million. The hotels are fully booked, the Mayor of eThekwini Metropolitan Cyril Xaba is appealing to the Bed and Breakfast (BnB) lodges to open their establishments for the tourists to have accommodation. All 23 beaches that are in eThekwini are open, clean and operational, along with the swimming pools that caters for every age group. The city will fire fireworks on the beachfront on the New Year`s eve for the first time.
