The quest to locate Joshlin Smith, who has been missing for over two months, persists in Saldanha Bay. Western Cape police have mobilized their canine unit in response to reports from the community regarding a suspicious odor emanating from nearby bushes.

Despite exhaustive efforts, which have included investigations stretching as far as the UK, authorities remain steadfast in their commitment to locating Joshlin.

Western Cape Police Commissioner Tembisile Patekile, as reported by EWN, has stated that law enforcement is actively pursuing all leads provided by the community. However, he acknowledges the challenges inherent in sorting through diverse information while not yet achieving significant breakthroughs.

Currently, Joshlin's mother, Kelly Smith, her boyfriend, and two other individuals are in custody awaiting trial at Pollsmoor Prison in connection with the disappearance.

There are mounting concerns surrounding the circumstances of Joshlin's vanishing, with reports hinting at potential motives related to drug usage and allegations of attempts to sell the child for ritualistic purposes.

The Citizen reported statements from David Louw, a resident of Saldanha Bay and Kelly Smith's former employer, who observed marked changes in her behavior indicative of drug use, potentially associated with methamphetamine-induced psychosis.

Joslin's biological father, Jose Emke, who resides in Springbok, suspects that the disappearance may be linked to drug-related debts accrued by Kelly and her boyfriend.

The search for Joshlin Smith remains a paramount priority for law enforcement agencies.
